SALVATION - Then, Now

There is this concept about salvation present  that refers to what we see as being saved on a daily basis. It is different from the salvation receive the day we believed and gave our lives to Christ. The salvation you receive the day you give your life to Christ saves you from the penalty of sin which is eternal death. The daily salvation you receive from Christ saves you from the power of sin.

On a daily basis, we are faced with all kinds of things: tests, temptations, challenges of all sorts that seeks to pull us into sin. On a daily basis these battles rage and He saves us by providing the power to overcome. Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and we will have to tell him the truth. We have a great high priest, who has gone into heaven, and he is Jesus the Son of God. That is why we must hold on to what we have said about him. Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help. Heb. 4:13-16.

So, on a daily basis, the strength that we need and that will bring us this salvation (which is also called sanctification) will be gotten from the filling of the Holy Spirit. “And do not take overmuch wine by which one may be overcome, but be full of the Spirit;” - Ephesians 5:18
